Letter from Henry Jones
As we come down from the high of an amazing ACHF National Championship Weekend, the ACHF Board humbly announces the resignation of Henry Jones, President of America Clogging Hall of Fame. Henry informed the board of his intent prior to the National Championships. The past year has been exceptionally challenging with “behind the scenes” efforts, led and conducted by Henry Jones. Listed below are only a couple example of Henry’s hard work. The ACHF Board is extremely grateful for his leadership and dedication to making ACHF an organization that will continue to grow in the best interest for the dancers, parent, directors and leadership.
Thanks to the vision and effort of Henry Jones, ACHF now has its 501(c)3. This means that the Americas Clogging Hall of Fame can now, legally, function as a Not For Profit Organization. This allows ACHF to apply for Federal and State grants that could better our competitions, festivals and workshops. The 501(c)3 prohibits financial negligence. This means, the money that ACHF makes stays with the organization so they can continue to offer scholarships, great trophies, amazing judges, outstanding facilities for their events and much more.
We are excited to plan the second annual Extreme Clogging Workshop and Competition. Henry Jones believed ACHF needed a Workshop that could combine cloggers from all aspects of the art. Workshop cloggers and competitive cloggers alike shared the stage. ACHF brought out some of the best competitive instructors as well as some of the most popular names in the workshop world. We are looking forward to an even more exciting 2019 event.
You spoke …Henry and ACHF Board listened. In 2019, ACHF will open the opportunity for new competitions and festivals in new locations. The Board is working with teams all over the East Coast interested in competing and hosting events. In 2018 alone, more than 15 judges were added to the Approved Judges List and many more qualified prospects will be added in 2019. You wanted bigger and better trophies for National Winners…Done. You wanted the ACHF National Championships in an area with family friendly activities….Done. You wanted more time to be with friends and families at National Championships….Done. The ACHF Board appreciates each and every dancer, parent and director involved in the 2018 National Championships. Your opinion matters. Directors and Parents involved in ACHF Nationals will have the opportunity to complete a survey concerning past events and present decisions. Your voice does matter, and the ACHF Board wants to hear from you.
Below is a list of the ACHF Board Members. Please get to know them and feel free to reach out to them with any questions, suggestions or concerns. America’s Clogging Hall of Fame is committed to the traditional roots of clogging while continuing to progress in the modern culture of the art. ACHF looks forward to an outstanding 2019 full of unforgettable events for cloggers of all ages, area of interest and levels of experience.
